- In Nepal, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has re-appointed KP Sharma Oli as Prime Minister as the opposition parties failed to put together a coalition government by the 9 pm deadline yesterday. Oli will take the oath of office.
- He had lost a trust vote in the House of Representatives on 10th May 2021. He will have 30 days to prove that he has majority support in the House.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14t May 2021 released the 8th instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme to over 9 crore 50 lakh farmers in the country.
- Under the 8th instalment of this largest direct cash transfer scheme in the world over 20 thousand crore rupees have been transferred directly into the accounts of the beneficiary farmers.
