On 7 March 2022, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the four-day Indo-Pacific Military Health Exchange (IPMHE) conference co-hosted by Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Observed for the first time in 1911. The International Women’s Day 2022 theme is “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
MoUs and Agreements:
National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) — an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to develop a sustainable model for promoting entrepreneurship at the grass roots by initiating the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP).
National News:
India’s public broadcaster, Prasar Bharati has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yupp TV, an over-the-top (OTT) platform, which is a gateway for television viewers across the globe. With this, DD India is now available on the OTT platform of Yupp TV in USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
Government has approved the continuation of the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Yojana and its components for Financial Years 2021-22 to 2025-26.
Government of India launched Donate-a-Pension programme. It is an initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme where citizens can donate the premium contribution of their immediate support staff including domestic workers, drivers and helpers.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME Minister Narayan Rane launched a Special Entrepreneurship Promotion Drive for Women – “SAMARTH” on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022 in New Delhi.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) hosted the virtual International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP) 2022 for Election Management Bodies (EMBs) from nearly 32 Countries and four international organizations.
Sports News:
Indian women’s 25m pistol team of Rahi Sarnobat, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won the gold medal in International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World cup in Cairo, Egypt. It is the 5th medal for India in the tournament.
