Appointment News:

Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Guatemala, has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador of India to Honduras.

Palaniswamy Subramanyan Karthigeyan has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to Tonga.

Awards and Honours:

Yohan Poonawalla has been awarded “Business Leader of the Year Award” in the 5th Edition of Gravittus Foundation’s URJA awards 2022.

Banking/Finance news:

RBI has cancelled the license of Nashik-based cooperative lender Independence Co-operative Bank Limited.

As per the Economic Survey 2022, Maharashtra tops the list of newly recognised startups and unicorns. Maharashtra alone recognized 11,308 of the 14000 startups that began operations in the current financial year. Out of the 44 companies that achieved the unicorn status, 11 are based in the Maharashtra.

International News:

MoUs and Agreements:

National News:

A total of 16 states and union territories have achieved 100 per cent first dose COVID-19 vaccination coverage.

Sports News:

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the winners of the IOC Women and Sport Awards 2021. The World Award was presented to Tokyo 2020 President Hashimoto Seiko during the 139th IOC Session in Beijing. IOC also announced the continental winners. Winner for Africa: Natsiraishe Maritsa (Zimbabwe), Winner for the Americas: Figure Skating Harlem (USA), Winner for Asia: Zhang Xia (China), Winner for Europe: Kari Fasting (Norway), and Winner for Oceania: Tracey Holmes (Australia).

State News:

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, along with Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, laid the foundation stone for the third Indo-Bangla border haat at Kamalpur under Dhalai district. The border haat will be known as Kamalpur-Kumraghat border haat. Already, there are two operational border Haats located at Tripura Kamalasagar and Srinagar under Sepahijala and South Tripura district.
