Appointments

Viresh Kumar Bhawra appointed as new Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab.

National News

On 8th January 2022, Election Commission announced the Assembly polls schedule for Goa, Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

  • Chief Election Commissioner: Sushil Chandra
  • Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in seven phases from 10th February to 7th March.
  • Voting for Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa will be held on 14th February in single phase.
  • Manipur will vote on 27th February and 3rd March in two phases.
  • Counting of votes will be held on 10th of March.

Election Commission of India (ECI) has withdrawn the appointment of Actor Sonu Sood as a state icon for Punjab.

Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurated two-day Training of Trainers programme for Haj 2022 at Haj House, Mumbai.

24th National Conference on e-Governance 2021 concludes at Hyderabad.
