Laureus World Sports Awards 2021: Japan’s Naomi Osaka named “Sportswoman of the Year Award” at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2021, and Spain’s Rafael Nadal named “Sportsman of the Year Award”.
German football champions Bayern Munich won Team of the Year Award. Tennis legend Billie Jean King won the Lifetime Achievement award.

The Laureus World Sports Awards is an annual award ceremony honouring individuals and teams from the world of sports along with sporting achievements throughout the year.

It was established in 1999 by Laureus Sport for Good Foundation founding patrons Daimler and Richemont. It is supported by its global partners Mercedes-Benz, IWC Schaffhausen and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
The first ceremony was held on 25 May 2000 in Monte Carlo, at which South African president Nelson Mandela gave the keynote speech.
Swiss tennis player Roger Federer holds the record for the most awards with six, five for Sportsman of the Year and one for Comeback of the Year.
