First you have to well aware with the CGPDTM Patent Officer Exam Pattern 2024. There are 2 Sections i.e. One is CGPDTM Prelims Exam and another is CGPDTM Mains Exam. In Prelims exam, there are six subjects i.e. Numerical Ability, Reasoning Aptitude, English Language, General Knowledge, General Science and Intellectual Properties. It will consist of one paper of objective type multiple choice questions and will comprise of 150 marks.

The Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) administers the Industrial Property laws related to Patents (Patents Act 1970), Designs (Designs Act, 2000), Trade Marks (Trade Marks Act, 1999) and Geographical Indications (Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act 1999) in the country. The CGPDTM is also the Registrar of Copyrights and Registrar of Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout-Design.
CGPDTM Patent Officer Prelims exam successfully conducted on 21st December 2023 (Thursday).CGPDTM Prelims Exam Answer Key 2023 released on 26th December 2023. CGPDTM Prelims Result 2024 declared on 10 January 2024.
CGPDTM Mains Exam conducted on 25th January 2024 (Thursday). and 5th February 2024 (Re-Exam) (Monday). CGPDTM Mains Answer Key Released on 11th February 2024 (Sunday). CGPDTM Result 2024 will be released by 3rd Week of March 2024. The process of the Interview will start on 01 April 2024 (tentatively) and will be continued for a period of the next 25 days (tentatively).

CGPDTM Patent Examiner Recruitment 2024: The Preliminary Exam (Phase 1) and Mains Examination (Paper I and Paper II) i.e. Phase 2 have already been conducted. The process of evaluation of Descriptive answer booklets (Mains Paper II) is in process.
As soon as the evaluation is completed, the results of the Mains Examination (Paper I and Paper II) will be declared by the third week of March 2024. The cumulative marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II will be assigned 80% weightage in the final list of qualified candidates.
The process of the Interview will start on 01 April 2024 (tentatively) and will be continued for a period of the next 25 days (tentatively). The interview will be for 100 marks and will test the candidate on the topics covered in the preliminary and the Mains examination. The marks obtained in the interview will be given 20% weightage in the final list of qualified candidates.
The medium of examination for preliminary and mains examination as well as interview shall be English only.

CGPDTM Prelims examination conducted in ONLINE mode only., It consists of one paper of objective type multiple choice questions and will comprise of 150 marks. This examination will be of a duration of 2 hours.

CGPDTM mains examination will be conducted in online and offline mode only and will consist of a written examination, which will consist of 2 papers i.e. Paper –I (CBT) and Paper –II (Descriptive answer). Paper I will be of 100 marks and Paper –II will be of 300 marks.
