CGPDTM Selection Process: The CGPDTM (Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks) is an Indian government body responsible for the administration of intellectual property rights including patents, designs, and trademarks. CGPDTM releases notifications regarding job vacancies through advertisements in leading newspapers and on its official website. Interested candidates must submit their applications online.
The CGPDTM selection process typically involves the following steps:
The Examination will consist of three phases as follows:
i. Preliminary Examination for screening of candidates for the mains examination.
ii. Mains Examination for shortlisting of candidates for Interview.
iii. Interview.
CGPDTM Prelims examination conducted in ONLINE mode only. It consists of one paper of objective type multiple choice questions and will comprise of 150 marks. This examination will be of a duration of 2 hours.

CGPDTM mains examination will be conducted in online and offline mode only and will consist of a written examination, which will consist of 2 papers i.e. Paper –I (CBT) and Paper –II (Descriptive answer). Paper I will be of 100 marks and Paper –II will be of 300 marks.

The cumulative marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II will be assigned 80% weightage in the final list of qualified candidates.
Candidates who clear the written examination are usually called for an interview or personality test. The interview is for 100 marks and will test the candidate on the topics covered in the preliminary and the Mains examination. The marks obtained in the interview will be given 20% weightage in the final list of qualified candidates.
After the interview, candidates who qualify may be required to undergo document verification to authenticate their educational qualifications, category and other relevant credentials.
Based on the performance in the written examination, interview, and document verification, the final merit list of selected candidates is prepared. The selection process may vary depending on the specific requirements of the position and the discretion of the CGPDTM authorities.
Selected candidates receive joining letters specifying the terms and conditions of their employment with CGPDTM after the declaration of CGPDTM final result.
Note- The medium of examination for preliminary and mains examination as well as interview shall be English only.
